Author Visits
with Ann Louise Ramsey and Honey
My author/illustrator visits begin with Power Point presentations of my children's picture books,Me, the TreeandJust Be You,set to music (great for all group sizes), followed with demonstrations of how I created the illustrations for my books with photography.
An added delight for the kids is Honey, my Cocker Spaniel and the star Just Be You, who accompanies me to school and library visits. Honey models her duck robe worn in Just Be You and steals the show every time!
The presentations also include interactive discussions about:
. Self-confidence
. Individuality
. Respect for each other's differences
. Respect for Nature and Animals
. The Creative Process
. Poetry Writing Techniques (for older children)
. The Publishing Process
Talks are modified accordingly for K-6th grades.
Presentations take about 45-50 minutes for 3-6 grades and 20-25 minutes for K-2 grades.
This includes Q&A and time to pet Honey!
These author visits are available with no impact to the school's budget.
